Shared Practice

Movement research with guest teachers and LAKE resident artists

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 10:00 – 11:30

These sessions present professional dancers and choreographers an opportunity to deepen their craft while engaged in physical training. Free of charge and artist-organized, the classes model a way for movement-based artists to share knowledge without the economic pressures found in most dance training models. Sessions are led by an evolving roster of professional dancers/choreographers and offer a glimpse into the artists’ own creative process and research practice. Each session culminates in a short discussion to reflect on the training, its methods of transmission, and its artistic content. Dance experience is required.
