Julia Chubareva – I.S.
This solo performance unfolds as a living exposition of a human being as an object of exploration. It refers to the states of emergence and sincere living presence, and reveals a subtle moment of meeting of a living being with its bodily shell. Following the journey of perceiving the bodily shell and acknowledging one’s nature, the solo brings up the question of social context. What if the living being exists in a flask isolated from any social interaction and context? How would they feel in their body? What would be that presence? But what if they are aware of being watched? Would they be able to find the line between pure existence and exposure? Balancing between remoteness and proximity, the performance reflects on embodiment, vulnerability and observation.
