Zeynep Acim – DEHR
DEHR is an ongoing contemporary dance choreography project currently in its development phase. The title comes from the Arabic word dehr, meaning time, destiny, and the finite nature of existence.
The project emerged from a deeply personal period of questioning life, death, artistic identity, and grief. Inspired by a painting encountered during this time, DEHR became a choreographic exploration of farewell, memory, and transformation.
At its core, the work reflects on the universal cycle of life and the interconnected rhythms found in nature, the human body, and the cosmos. Through contemporary dance, it explores themes of time, destiny, choice, and the limits of human existence.
The choreography has already had its first performance and is currently continuing to evolve through an ongoing creative development process.
