Yulia Kim (born 1998) is a choreographer and dancer based between Berlin and Seoul. She holds a BA in Dance and Performing Arts and an MA in Performing Arts from Hanyang University in South Korea. She debuted in 2021 with her choreography <Resonance(共鳴)>, and her piece <We> was presented at the National Theater of Korea in 2022. Since then, she has been expanding her activities to Europe.Her dance is rooted in Korean traditional dance, but she does not confine herself to a single genre. Instead, she focuses on the essence of dance, allowing contemporary influences to infuse her movements. Everything becomes dance to her.As a thinker, she expresses her philosophical reflections on the world through her work. Her practice explores the profound connections between nature, life, Earth, and the universe, employing dance as a tool to observe the world and herself.
