BETWEEN DANCING AND FIGHTING
LAB: 31 August | 10-16h & 1 September | 10-13h

This workshop revolves around the connection of different movement methods: contemporary dance, Qi Gong, Kung Fu, and partner work inspired by wrestling and boxing. We will make use of martial principles as an emerging language that enables listening and receiving, in order to create a diverse yet rooted physical conversation of bodies and introduce an organic flow between the individual body and playful interaction with the other.

WHERE THE BOYS ARE
PERFORMANCE: 2 September
11h School Performance
17h Public Performance

Where the Boys Are is a creation for a younger audience (13+), playfully exploring the intersection of dance and martial arts. Examining and reconstructing the vocabulary of different fighting practices, the two performers transform the arena into a zone of sensitive and intimate action, and expose different perspectives on relations between young men.
