EMBODIMENT, ECOSOMATICS, CRITTERING
LAB: 24 & 25 August | 10-16h
PERFORMANCE: 29 August | 19h
Angélica Roa is a Berlin-based interdisciplinary artist, dancer, choreographer, and trained physicist, and a graduate of the MA SODA at HZT Berlin/UdK Berlin. Her work operates at the intersection of performance, ecological research, and embodied knowledge production. As director of LaMultiverse, she has choreographed and directed interdisciplinary works exploring the embodiment of natural forces (Kosmocorporea) and hybrid plant–human relationalities (Bryophyllum). Currently, she is focused on biological interdependence and entanglement (To Critter), while developing ecosomatic methodologies informed by Colombian Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK). With over twenty years of experience as a performer and mediator across institutional theaters and community-based contexts, she integrates artistic practice, scientific thinking, and situated research. Her current work investigates human–nature relations within urban and natural landscapes through site-responsive, embodied methodologies.

ON HOW TO BE NATURE
LAB: 24 & 25 August | 10-16h
IN THE GARDEN A durational laboratory process in which movement, sensory practice, and collective reflection become tools for ecological inquiry. Through eco-somatic practices, participants explore kinesthetic relationships with soil, trees, water, air, and micro-ecologies; bodily awareness as a form of environmental perception; and interspecies coexistence as lived — not abstract — knowledge. Rather than producing representational performance, the work generates situated experiences where artist-participants and environments co-produce meaning.
IN THE STUDIO Choreography and performance creation in relation to bio-sculptures and natural materials like soil and water, seeking a more horizontal encounter with non-human entities. We will explore how the embodiment of this materiality moves the body through a choreographic process that seeks states, images, and reflections through movement.

TO CRITTER
PERFORMANCE: 29 August | 19h
To Critter is an eco-sensual invitation to transcend the boundaries of the human self and connect with what lies beyond the skin. To be and become—with the soil, the trees, the water, the sun, and the more-than-human world that we never left. Drawing inspiration from TEK (Traditional Ecological Knowledge), To Critter is the result of a year of ecosomatic practices in Berlin’s forests and interactions with their More-than-human beings. With a dramaturgy inspired by the Indigenous poetry of Natalie Diaz and Ángela Mavisoy, To Critter asks about entanglement and biological interdependence not as a theory but as an embodied practice.
