Sophie Prins is a Dutch singer and dancer, based in Berlin.She grew up playing clarinet and dancing Streetstyles. After a Bachelor in Contemporary Dance she studied Jazz as a singer at the Conservatory in Amsterdam. In the past years she worked as performer in multidisciplinary performances, for example in the works of Christoph Winkler, Zufit Simon and the location and children’s theatre pieces of Andreas Denk. In her own work she dances, sings, creates music for theatre, choreographs musicians and performs as a singer-songwriter. She has a big love for location theatre and immersive performances questioning the shape of art in everyday live. Currently she is performing in clubs and theatres with the dance piece ‘CREATURES’ together with Melodi Yüce, with whom she is researching how art can also be a form of protest and confrontation, and how it can interact with all layers of society.
