Luis Fernando Colombo is an Italo-Colombian artist, born in Colombia and later adopted in Italy. His artistic path moves across performing arts, site-specific performance, physical theatre, dance theatre, acting, and interpretation. At the centre of his practice is the body: a place of memory, transformation, contradiction, and storytelling.
He trained at the Kataklò Athletic Dance Theatre Academy, where he developed a physical and acrobatic approach to performance, and later worked with Kataklò Athletic Dance Theatre, also taking part in the creation of the Giovane Compagnia Kataklò. For almost five years, he collaborated with Sanpapié Dance Milano, working in different productions as a performer and contributing to the company’s research processes. During this time, site-specific performance became a central part of his artistic practice: a way of understanding space not simply as a setting, but as a living element that can shape dramaturgy, movement, presence, and the relationship with the audience.
Alongside his work in dance and performance, he has also developed his practice as an actor. He took part in Ridley Scott’s upcoming project The Dog Stars and was selected for a documentary by Italian filmmaker Luca Lucini. He also collaborated with Swiss artist Juliana Cuneaz on the project Seekers of Light.
He is now entering a more personal creative path, allowing his experience as a performer, actor, and mover to open into his own artistic research. Thanks to his selection for the Culture Moves Europe mobility programme, he will be able to dedicate time and space to the development of a new-born creation. At LAKE Studios, he will have the opportunity to dive deeply into this process, letting the work grow through practice, dialogue, and artistic exploration, together with Berlin-based artist Sabrina Martemucci.
