Julia Chubareva

Julia Chubareva is a Ukrainian freelance dancer and dance teacher, who has over 7 years of teaching experience, having worked in Kyiv and later in Bremen with students of different age groups and dance levels. As a performer and choreographer, she has taken part in various Ukrainian dance festivals and choreographed award-winning group and solo works for her students. Julia’s recent highlights include performing in Staatsoper Hannover’s production“UNREAL” (2024), co-creating the piece “3..2..1.. Go!” in collaboration with Melanie Lopez Lopez as a part of “Bremer&Bremerhavener TanzDialoge#4” (2023), and creating a solo-piece “Empty chair” (2025). Currently, she is working on a full-length performance titled «Girl’s Girl» (work in progress) that brings together contemporary dance and stand-up comedy.

Throughout her career, she studied from lots of international choreographers and dancers, including Chey Jurado, Victor Rottier, Cristian Gonzalez, Nadav Zelner, Dor Mamalia, Emma Evelein, Desmond Richardson (and Complexions Contemporary Ballet members) and others.

Julia graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and has a degree in psychology. Part of her artistic practice explores the connection between movement and mental well-being, and how movement can foster self-awareness, emotional release and reconnection with oneself.
