Jana Kubánková is violinist, cross-disciplinary artist and movement therapist based in Czechia.She graduated from music and theory of performance at Academy of performing Arts in Prague and studied music also at Meadowmount School of Music in New York, USA. As an artist, she appears at trans-disciplinary projects with dancers and actors as music improviser. She also creates authorial music for performances. She experiments with overstepping her role of musician to active moving performer on stage with her instrument.As movement therapist, she deals with application of movement therapy and somatic principles in music-instrumental playing and pedagogy, to provide more freedom in movement and expression for players, but also prevent injuries and burnout through more conscious use of the body.She teaches students in further professional studies and also teachers, both in Czechia and abroad.
