SUMMARY:UNFINISHED FRIDAYS #90
DESCRIPTION:Entrance: Frei\, Bitte Anmelden –  lakestudiosberlin@gmail.com \n\n\n\nWe are excited to present the 90th Volume of our work-in-progress series Unfinished Fridays\, featuring new works/excerpts by our resident artists: \n\n\n\nMayu Shirai\, Azzie Mccutcheon\, Sophia Herzog & Hannah Juliane Steenbeck\, Zsófia Lipták & Eszter Zámori  \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n真優・ まゆ・ Mayu Shirai \n\n\n\nIn this peace\, I am thinking about my root\, I try to find my dance through my name”真優　まゆ  Mayu” \,真・ま（Ma) means truth and real\, and 優・ゆ (Yu) means excellence but at the same time it means standing with people. In Japan\, parents give names to their children with wishes\, and children will fulfill the name. In this piece\, I am searching for the meaning of my name\, the meaning\, the history and the sound itself. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAzzie Mccutcheon \n\n\n\nThis work-in-progress was created as part of the research project ‘Caricature’. The project explores possibilities of illuminating elements of a character and suggesting narrative through the integration of theatrical and dance tools. I am interested in how we ‘read’ characters and archetypes through performance and how subverting these processes can reveal our shared human complexities. AT) – Sophia Herzog & Hannah Juliane Steenbeck  \n\n\n\nThe dancers Hannah Juliane Steenbeck and Sophia Herzog explore the human need for touch during a residency at FELD Theatre. How close can we get to each other? When are we too close to each other? When does with each other become against each other? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn your hands – Zsófia Lipták & Eszter Zámori  \n\n\n\nIn the performance In your hands- we focus on the connection between humans and our beloved machine: the telephone. In the space there is one dancer with a palm jewellery which has a shape of a phone. Phones are becoming an external part of the body\, which shapes the body in a non-human way. In the performance the dancer represents the short evolution of how the human body is trying to become one with the phone and how much disabilities it causes in the body. We are proudly wearing our phones as jewelry\, but are we ready to handle the pain and negative changes in the body and mind it causes? In the piece the dancer is building a relationship with the phone and realizing the addiction taking over the control of the body. Is there any way to escape or we have to transform into a new mechanical being?
