MAY 15 JOURNEY: 10:00 – 17:00 LAKE Studios Berlin / HAU Hebbel am Ufer
10:00 – 12:00 Shared Practice & Talk | LAKE Studios Berlin
Meet at the main dance studio of LAKE Studios Berlin, where artistic director and choreographer Marcela Giesche will guide participants in a shared practice movement session. She will present the practices (accessible to any level) through her experiences of bringing dance and choreography into the running of an artistic dance space. She will also speak about how running and maintaining a space influenced her artistic practices and visions. After the movement session, Marcela will give a guided tour of the LAKE Studios dance and residency space, with possibilities to exchange and ask questions. Afterwards, whoever would like can join a trip to a local, inexpensive and tasty local vegan restaurant to talk and continue the dialogue. This meal is to be covered at the participants’ own cost. We recommend you wear comfortable clothes.
Moderation by: Marcela Giesche – Artistic Director, LAKE Studios Berlin

15:00 – 17:00 HAU Digital Art Showcase: Performance, Technology, Gaming Culture & Networking
The digital stage HAU4 is a platform for the connection between performances & technology and gaming culture. The programme is presented both online and on the theatre stages. On 15 May, HAU will present outstanding HAU4 artists. The audience has the opportunity to immerse themselves in hybrid performances, interactive XR experiments and various game worlds. At the centre is the question of how an artistic perspective can be productive in dealing with social change, in which commercial technology and authoritarian politics are becoming increasingly intertwined. There will be an opportunity to engage in dialogue with the artists.
Artists: allapopp, Anan Fries, Choy Ka Fai, Interrobang, Janne Kummer, Keiken, Lena Biresch, machina eX, onlinetheater.live, Patrick Blenkarn & Milton Lim and Theresa Reiwer.

What is an IETM Plenary meeting?
The Plenary is IETM’s biggest in-person meeting of the year, bringing together between 400 – 600 cultural practitioners from across the world. Open to IETM network members and non members alike, participants typically represent different genres and disciplines within the contemporary performing arts, and include artists, producers, presenters, students, academics, consultants, government officers and funders.
A typical Plenary programme provides opportunities to:
- Discover the artistic work and important discussions taking place in the host city
- Unpack the most pressing topics facing the international performing arts sector today through talks, discussions and workshops
- Network and make connections
The Plenary meeting is also the forum in which IETM’s annual General Assembly takes place, where the network’s members come together to discuss key decisions, finances and to vote on new members for the Board of Directors and Advisory Committee.
