SUMMARY:Crittering No. 1: Confluence
DESCRIPTION:Bodies as Ancestral Waters/Particles entangled with a More-than-Human Web \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n3-hour embodied workshop by Angélica Roa / LaMultiverse \n\n\n\nBy Donation: Pay what you can (suggested 15€)*All proceeds go to the NGO Cumbres Blancas Colombia (@cumbresblancascolombia)\, supporting rural indigenous communities in ecosystem restoration. \n\n\n\nFor questions and to sign up\, please email Angélica: fisicangel@gmail.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat if the body does not end at the skin? \n\n\n\nWhat if\, instead of understanding ourselves as autonomous individuals moving through an external environment\, we approached the body as a confluence—a temporary meeting place of waters\, minerals\, microorganisms\, ancestors\, memories\, forces and relations? \n\n\n\nConfluence is a three-hour embodied laboratory exploring the body as a site of ecological\, ancestral and material entanglement. Continuing the research of On How to Be Nature and To Critter\, the workshop moves away from the dominant capitalist narrative of the human as an individual entity separated from “Nature” and toward other possibilities for understanding and belonging to the living entangled world. \n\n\n\nThrough movement\, somatic attention\, imagination\, collective reflection and encounters with material elements\, we will bring different bodies of knowledge into conversation: Andean Indigenous worldviews and their understandings of the body as territory\, in reciprocity and relational existence; Indian philosophical approaches to embodiment\, matter and consciousness; and perspectives from particle physics that destabilize the image of matter as solid\, isolated and self-contained. \n\n\n\nThese perspectives are not presented as equivalent systems or collapsed into a single universal truth. Instead\, they become different waters entering the same confluence\, distinct ways of troubling the idea of the bounded\, autonomous human. \n\n\n\nThe workshop proposes embodiment as a practice for remembering this entanglement through the sensing\, moving\, porous body. Bodies made through relations\, inheritances and exchanges; bodies continuously passing into soil\, air\, water\, plants\, microorganisms and other beings. \n\n\n\nWe will move between sensing and thinking\, individual exploration and collective composition. \n\n\n\nNo previous dance or movement experience is required. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAngélica Roa is a Berlin-based interdisciplinary artist\, dancer\, choreographer\, and trained physicist\, and a graduate of the MA SODA at HZT Berlin/UdK Berlin. Her work operates at the intersection of performance\, ecological research\, and embodied knowledge production. As director of LaMultiverse\, she has choreographed and directed interdisciplinary works exploring the embodiment of natural forces (Kosmocorporea) and hybrid plant–human relationalities (Bryophyllum). Currently\, she is focused on biological interdependence and entanglement (To Critter)\, while developing ecosomatic methodologies informed by Colombian Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK). With over twenty years of experience as a performer and mediator across institutional theaters and community-based contexts\, she integrates artistic practice\, scientific thinking\, and situated research. Her current work investigates human–nature relations within urban and natural landscapes through site-responsive\, embodied methodologies. \n\n\n\nWEB: lamultiverse.com IG: @angelicaroa_lamultiverse \n\n\n\n©Mayra Wallraff
