Hailing from California, Uma’s work bridges the realms of dance, theater, music, technology and ceramics. She works from many angles – writing, directing, and performing. Her creative projects are marked by an interdisciplinary, boundary-pushing, and political nature. She is currently exploring themes of the gaze, womanhood, grief and existentialism. She’s a founding member of Silverfish, an all girl music collective that combining folk and electronic music, and video art. In Berlin she has found makers pushing the boundaries of the expected, and exploring topics of the human existence head on – gripping and raw. Her works resonate within Berlin’s creative sphere, finding a home between all the other bizarre undefinable works.
