Egypt Pooler is a dancer and writer from Portland, Maine where she is currently a toddler teacher. She studied dance and poetry at Bennington college with a focus on choreography and somatic and improvisational techniques. Her post grad life has become learning everyday life as a form of intentional and intimate research to inspire her work. She is interested in durational and site specific dance and process oriented creation.
Julia Duva is a multidisciplinary artist from Los Angeles, California working mostly with ceramics, textile, and metal to create wearable and/or interactive pieces of sculpture. Much of their work has been intended to be used by dancers/movers to inform their movement and give generally static materials life. Their collaboration with dancers brought them towards performance/dance work themselves. Their friendship and subsequent creative relationship with Egypt Pooler began at Bennington College in 2023, and the pair have worked together in various forms since – either with Egypt as a dancer in a sculptural piece or with both parties making and dancing together.
