(Roughly) 86 (collectively sourced) steps towards an ideal cultural economy (ecology)** 

**Inspired by the 2016 handbook on how to ‘Become the ideal cultural worker in 86 steps’ – a performance-text that was part of Choreographing Calculation (2012) that premiered at the CoFestival in Ljublijana, Slovenia. 

Group 1 contributions: 

1 – No shame. 

2 – Mistakes are allowed. 

3 – Cooperation. 

4 – Decide which part(s) of your practice(s) could be realized w/out monetary exchange. 

5 – Try out the gift economy. 

6 – Circle economy. 

7 – Focus on intergenerational exchange. 

8 – Make the economic system art.  

9 – Take a piece of land. 

10 – Think you are one of the runners of the system. 

11 – Have a garden together. 

12 – Make it a choreography. 

13 – We can make everything a choreography. 

14-30 Dance More.

1 – 1x performance art production per year for EVERYONE (kids in school, adults on paid leave). 

2 – Provide artistic events in the work place. 

3 – Somatic experience spaces for free in public spaces (docked to libraries). 

4 – Sharing knowledge about producing art is imperative. 

5 – Measure art with art. 

6 – ALL art is important. 

7 – Culture/Dance inhabits a legitimate, liminal space. 

8 – Multi-culturalism is embraced diversity. 

9 – Daily naps is normalized. 

10 – Decentralize artistic practice/production. (To rural spaces?) 

11 – Rotate artistic practices. (and administrative practices?)  

12 – Universal Basic Income. 

13 – Take a break. 

14 – Special privilege for risky art practice. 

Group 3 contributions: 

1 – Universal Basic Income. 

2 – 100% inheritance tax. 

3 – Equal ground distribution.

5 – Basic human necessities are secured – don’t work to live, live to work.
